Having lived half of my 70 year life in Big Sky Country, the recent seeming acceptance of bigotry, racism, sexism and misogyny in no small way floors me. The first half of my life growing up in inner-city New Jersey, exactly in the shadow of Lady Liberty, in a more ethnically diverse community than most, gave me, what I feel is a blind eye toward race, color, creed or sex. This as far as acceptance, equality and respect.

In most of our elections, there really aren’t that many real significant differences between the candidates when it comes down to their positions on the key issues. That is one reason voter turnout numbers in the U.S. are as dismal as they are. That’s not the case this year in the Democratic primary for the District 37 House seat. When Jonathan Daly-LaBelle knocked on our door in July, we had the best conversation we have had with a candidate in decades.
