Hernando awarded $5.7 million from MDOT for I-55/Commerce Street exit engineering

Southaven honors former police chief Tom Long in Tribute Hall

Southaven added a “giant” to the wall of Tribute Hall at City Hall this week, horning the man who guided Southaven Police Department during the 1990s and early 2000s. Tom Long who became the city’s very first police officer hired by the new Southaven Police Department in 1980 and later served as chief from 1989-2016, was celebrated with a plaque on the wall which was unveiled on Tuesday honoring his legacy.

Olive Branch Police Department presented with nation accreditation certificate

Olive Branch Police Department was officially presented with a certificate awarding them a four-year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) at the June 2 Board of Aldermen meeting. This is the fourth time that the department has earned the certification and is one of only seven law enforcement agencies in Mississippi to be certified by CALEA.
