Pierson donates flags to IPD On Wednesday afternoon, Arthur Pierson continued his tradition of donating American flags to the Ironton Police Department. His tradition began in September 2014, when he noticed that the neither the IPD nor the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office had flag poles outside their offices.

Final Tuesday Night concert of 2026will be Tuesday The Ironton aLive’s Tuesday Night concert series will have its final concert of the year on Tuesday with the traditional all-star jam. And as always, attendees are asked to bring canned food or donations to the event. The food and funds will be donated to Harvest for the Hungry in Ironton. And Ironton aLive will be feeding the crowd hot dogs and maybe pizza.

Pierson donates flags to police, sheriff Every couple of years, Arthur Pierson donates flags to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office. It began in 2014, when he drove past the sheriff’s office and noticed they didn’t have an American flag. As the Past Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron No. 433 of Ironton, that didn’t sit well with him. So he lead a fundraising effort to get a flag pole set up and since then he has continued to make sure there is an American flag flying.
