Abstract Background Depressive and anxiety symptoms are common in older adults living with dementia in nursing homes. This study examined if a multicomponent form of cognitive behaviour therapy (m-CBT) was effective for improving such symptoms and quality of life in this cohort. Methods The cluster-randomised trial involved 21 nursing homes, randomly allocated to m-CBT or usual care.

Focusing on the innovative use of telehealth, the research aimed to investigate the feasibility, acceptability, and potential efficacy of a telehealth counselling service for older adults in aged care.
