Retrospective plans lodged for traveller site

Plans have been lodged for a gypsy and traveller site near Winsford . A retrospective planning application has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council for land to the north side of Nova Scotia Lane and would include permission for a two-pitch site. The site is a parcel of land located approximately 1.3km from Winsford and a similar distance to Cuddington. As well as change of use for the land itself, the plans also include access from Nova Scotia Lane.

A mayor looking to make a comeback to borough politics and a former Conservative police officer turned Reform organiser will be among the runners and riders in an upcoming by-election. The vote to select a new Cheshire West and Chester councillor to represent Weaver and Cuddington will take place on Thursday, July 2, with five candidates having thrown their hats in the ring. The vote was triggered after the ward's Conservative councillor Phil Rimmer resigned with immediate effect.

Cheshire holiday park unveils plans for more lodges

A Cheshire holiday park has submitted plans for more lodges. Oakmere Lodge Country Park near Northwich has lodged an application to Cheshire West and Chester Council for an additional 10 holiday homes on its site. Plans for a prefabricated workshop have also been submitted. The application said the park currently has a central green area which has been used for informal sales and promotional activities, including the use of a canvas sales tent and hosting coffee mornings.
