Mark Taylor-Canfield has written film soundtracks for classic silent films and he performs and writes music in two Seattle bands -
The Galaxy Machine & The Revel Saints.
Mark Taylor-Canfield has traveled in Europe, spending time in London, Paris and the Loire Valley in France.
Mark's musique concrete sound art compositions were honored at the International Institute For Electro-Acoustic Music in Bourges, France. As a result. he was given a one year residency as a composer at the University of Washington computer music program/CARTA (Center For Advanced Research in the Arts and Humanities).
He's also releasing several CD's and music videos of his original electronic music under the name DJ MTC.
Mark has been an actor on TV (History Channel - "Unnatural Histories"), and he was a member of the cast of an award-winning play which won "Best of The Seattle Fringe Festival" (All In The Timing by David Ives).
He has performed in plays written by William Shakespeare ("Ceasar", "All About Nothing").
Mark also played the part of Hamlet in a Seattle production of "Rosencrantz and Gildenstern Are Dead"
by Tom Stoppard.
He has worked closely with many arts organizations to put on multimedia and electronic music shows -
NW CyberArtists, Washington Composers Forum, Gem Studios,
Salon Productions, The Galactic Embassy, InArtsNW, etc.
Mark's video and multimedia installations have been featured at Center For Contemporary Arts, The Speakeasy, On The Boards, The Segeway, and InArtsNW.
