DENVER — Next to Valverde Park in Denver stands Life-Line Colorado, a non-profit organization that focuses on addiction treatment, relapse, and re-entry. The organization that aims to give people of all ages the time necessary for another chance is expanding its work in a new direction - boxing. Within a garage and behind two white doors lies a room surrounded by equipment. The program is based around the boxing ring at the center of the room.

LAKEWOOD, Colorado — A survivor of the Columbine High School shooting is championing a program that trains victims to fight back. Krista Hanley is the program director of the personal safety training program at the Colorado chapter of IMPACT Personal Safety. “We can’t really create and be creative without being safe," she said. "I found myself restricting my life. And I was afraid to go out on dates. I was afraid to walk at night.
