El Niño conditions developed over the summer (brighter colors). El Niño i On Thursday, The Climate Prediction Center posted a new set of forecast maps for the upcoming winter. The new guidance, which is updated every month, is painting a much wetter weather picture for most of California.

After Lala, new storm may approach Hawaiian islands As Hurricane Lala moves away from the Hawaiian islands, forecasters are tracking a new disturbance in the Central Pacific. The new storm may approach the Hawaiian islands this weekend with increasing rain and wind. Lala continues to retain hurricane status as it moves to the north away from the Hawaiian islands.
