The PAINT database for operational concentrating solar power plant data following FAIR data principles
Abstract Integrating renewable energy is critical for maintaining grid stability while striving towards global climate goals. Concentrating solar power tower plants offer a promising solution but their competitiveness is currently hindered by high operational costs, limited data availability and slow adoption of emerging technologies.
Acute Rejection With DSA‐Negative Severe Microvascular Inflammation in a Kidney Transplant Recipient With an Isolated DPB1*04‐Mismatch Successfully Stabilised With Daratumumab
1 Introduction Antibody-mediated rejection (AMR), histologically characterised by microvascular inflammation (MVI) in glomeruli and peritubular capillaries, is one of the most common causes of premature kidney allograft loss [1].

Automatic heliostat learning for in situ concentrating solar power plant metrology with differentiable ray tracing - Nature Communications
Abstract Concentrating solar power plants are a clean energy source capable of competitive electricity generation even during night time, as well as the production of carbon-neutral fuels, offering a complementary role alongside photovoltaic plants. In these power plants, thousands of mirrors (heliostats) redirect sunlight onto a receiver, potentially generating temperatures exceeding 1000°C. Practically, such efficient temperatures are never attained.
Reply to: On the statistical foundation of a recent single molecule FRET benchmark - Nature Communications
replying to A. Saurabh et al. Nature Communications https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-024-47733-3 (2024) In their ‘Matters Arising’ manuscript, Saurabh et al. discuss two issues related to single-molecule Förster resonance energy transfer (smFRET) experiments: the use of the Gaussian noise approximation and spectral crosstalk.
A Proposal for Evaluating the Economic Viability of Biorefineries against Petrochemical Benchmarks
1 Introduction Climate change is considered one of the key challenges humanity currently faces 1. There is robust scientific consensus that it is caused by humankind 2. One of the main reasons is the use of enormous amounts of fossil carbon from natural sinks, leading to imbalances in the Earth's natural carbon cycle. The higher concentration of greenhouse gases, primarily CO2, in the atmosphere leads to higher temperatures and increased extreme weather events.
RNA contact prediction by data efficient deep learning - Communications Biology
Abstract On the path to full understanding of the structure-function relationship or even design of RNA, structure prediction would offer an intriguing complement to experimental efforts. Any deep learning on RNA structure, however, is hampered by the sparsity of labeled training data. Utilizing the limited data available, we here focus on predicting spatial adjacencies ("contact maps”) as a proxy for 3D structure.
Thermal Bridges on Building Rooftops - Scientific Data
The raw images for our dataset were recorded with a Zenmuse XT2 visual (RGB) and a FLIR Tau 2 (thermal, https://flir.netx.net/file/asset/15598/original/) camera (see Table 1 for details) on a DJI M600 drone (https://www.dji.com/de/matrice600). They were recorded at flight heights between 60–80 m above ground with a flight speed of \(1\frac{{\rm{m}}}{{\rm{s}}}\) and contain GPS information.
Multiple parameters shape the 3D chromatin structure of single nuclei at the doc locus in Drosophila - Nature Communications
Abstract The spatial organization of chromatin at the scale of topologically associating domains (TADs) and below displays large cell-to-cell variations. Up until now, how this heterogeneity in chromatin conformation is shaped by chromatin condensation, TAD insulation, and transcription has remained mostly elusive.
Cis -regulatory chromatin loops arise before TADs and gene activation, and are independent of cell fate during early Drosophila development
Abstract Acquisition of cell fate is thought to rely on the specific interaction of remote cis-regulatory modules (CRMs), for example, enhancers and target promoters. However, the precise interplay between chromatin structure and gene expression is still unclear, particularly within multicellular developing organisms.
Precision and accuracy of single-molecule FRET measurements—a multi-laboratory benchmark study - Nature Methods
Nomenclature and definitions See Supplementary Table 5 for a summary of the following section. The FRET efficiency E is defined as $$E = \frac{{F_{\rm{A|D}}}}{{F_{\rm{D|D}} + F_{\rm{A|D}}}}$$ (1) where F is the signal.
