1. Introduction Sporotrichosis, caused by fungi of the genus Sporothrix, is the most prevalent and globally distributed of the implantation mycoses [1]. Transmission is usually by transcutaneous or transmucosal traumatic inoculation of the fungus present in soil, plants and decomposing organic matter (sapronotic), and through enzootic (cat-to-cat/dog) and zoonotic (cat-to-human) routes.
