A Dakota County city of nearly 80,000 residents is set to welcome its second mosque in less than a year. The Al Hadi Association, an independent nonprofit Islamic organization, was given the green light Monday night by the Lakeville City Council to build a permanent place of worship, known as Al-Hadi Masjid. The city council approved a conditional use permit to allow a religious institution to be built at 17732 Junelle Path in Lakeville, which is zoned as a single family residential district.

A gourmet pet food retailer will close its Twin Cities stores once the shelves are empty. Woody’s Pet Food Deli will shutter its Eagan and Minneapolis stores after 18 years, the store announced on social media. Woody’s, which began as a farmer’s market booth, grew to three storefront locations at its height. The two current storefronts are located in Eagan at 1245 Trapp Road and Minneapolis at 3008 W. 50th Street.
