Abstract Early diagnosis and treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (NvAMD) improve vision outcomes. This analysis investigates associations of English indices of multiple deprivation 2019 (IMD2019) with baseline characteristics, key care processes and visual acuity (VA) outcomes for NvAMD in the National Ophthalmology Database (NOD). Eligible eyes started treatment for NvAMD in England between 01/04/2020 and 31/03/2023.

Abstract Understanding the financial and environmental impact of clinical pathways is important for designing sustainable services. This study aimed to compare the cost and carbon footprint of sub-Tenon’s and topical anaesthesia for cataract surgery, benchmark minimum topical anaesthesia utilisation rates, and quantify the benefits of increased topical anaesthesia usage in the United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS).

Abstract To determine if the Eidon white light 60-degree field Scanning Confocal Ophthalmoscope (SCO) camera was safe to use with staged mydriasis in a Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP). The trial participants were recruited from people with diabetes attending appointments in DESP or Virtual Eye clinics for post-Covid delayed hospital appointments.
