1 Introduction The discovery of the transparent conducting state of the perovskite oxides SrVO 3 ${\rm SrVO}_{3}$ and CaVO 3 ${\rm CaVO}_{3}$ has underlined the importance of strongly correlated electronic systems for the development of technologically interesting properties [1-4]. In these systems, the 3d 1 $^1$ electronic configuration of the vanadium ion is stabilized by the delocalization of the d-electron, leading to a charge carrier density in the range of 10 22 $^{22}$ cm−3 [5-10].
