Much to worry about
Looking back over the last several decades, citizens of Israel will find much reason for grave concern over the aptitude of the country’s leadership. Indeed, almost all of those who held- and some who still hold—senior positions of national responsibility have raised ideas, which have either precipitated trauma and tragedy or, by mere good fortune, have not done so.
Gaza, Trump, truth and … “transfer”
Israel is on the very cusp of major historical change. The only question is whether its leaders will seize the moment or, tragically, let it slip away. The potential portal to a new tomorrow was created by President Donald Trump’s audacious proposal for the removal of the population of Gaza as a precondition for peace—or at least stability—in the war-torn coastal enclave.
I'll Be Seeing You
A Pitlochry Festival Theatre Production Written by Martin Sherman Directed by Alan Cumming and Ben Occhipinti Presented with thanks, by special arrangement with the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts What if Liberace walked into a play about Liberace? That’s the problem. Because when you’re writing about the greatest showman of them all, what happens when the man himself turns up to check your work?
Something rotten in the land of tricolor
“I have tried to lift France out of the mud. But she will return to her errors. … I cannot prevent the French from being French.” — Charles de Gaulle Bizarre developments seem to be emerging in what is considered by many—rightly or wrongly—the home of modern democracy, for there appears to be a growing alignment between Paris and the tyrannical theocrats of Tehran, particularly over the fate of war-torn Lebanon.
Kamala Harris’s unsavory supporters

Into the fray: Inverted morality, the eclipse of good by evil
“We will tear down the border and we will tear out their hearts from their bodies [and] … eat the livers.” ― Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar,April 6, 2018. “It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland. Ever since the appalling atrocities perpetrated last October by the Islamo-fascist terror organization Hamas, it seems that all criteria of decency and rationality, along with accepted standards of good and evil, have been turned on their head.

The inversion of victim and victimizer
The surge in antisemitism across the U.S. and elsewhere has once again thrown into sharp relief the pervasive and perverse loathing to which the Jewish people are subject. This hate bubbles just below the surface, dormant but not dead, ready to erupt on the flimsiest pretext, even in the most allegedly liberal, cultured and erudite societies. Since World War II, the naked expression of Jew-hatred has been muted, even frowned upon, in many parts of the world.

Beck Center for the Arts
“Powerful and provocative." - The New York Times The influential play Bent follows a group of gay men finding ways to survive persecution before and after the Night of the Long Knives. Within the confines of a concentration camp a secret love affair illustrates how the selfless love of one person for another can overcome oppression, even under the most extreme circumstances. When Bent was written, there was little awareness about the persecution of homosexuals by the Nazis.
