Bruno, Chef de police
O knize Bruno, Chef de police Detektivní román s příchutí Beaujolais a vůní rozmarýnu. A navíc si musí každý den vychutnat obligátní oběd o mnoha chodech a dobré víno.

The “super-concierge,” whose partnership provided a wide range of services to the owners of expansive estates, had increased her own wealth in every area except domestically.

In the bucolic idyll that is life in St Denis, that small French jewel in the crown of the Dordogne, it’s a wonder that police chief Bruno Courrèges has the time to uncover any crime. What with the horse riding, hunting, fishing, organising local rugby teams, walking his dog, listening to medieval music and playing tennis, not to mention the wine tastings and those fabulous lunches (often spent discussing the menu for that evening’s dinner), his days would seem blissfully full.

De verzetsman van Martin Walker

Is the incidence of congenital toxoplasmosis declining?
Box 1 Peak shift dynamics: implications for congenital disease incidence While in many contexts, declining exposure to T. gondii will lead to a declining incidence of CT due to fewer seroconversions in pregnancy, this need not always be the case. For example, some authors have noted that despite seroprevalence declines in the initially high-transmission settings of Austria and Poland, CT incidence (or IgM prevalence, indicative of acute infection in pregnancy), conversely, increased [ , 79.

This audiobook contains 14 short stories that deal with such topics as stolen oysters, a lovesick fugitive, a sabotaged tourist minibus, and more.

Using authentic-sounding pronunciations of French names, he is particularly strong during the descriptions of Bruno's meal preparations.

Mystery Scene
Martin Walker isn’t writing mysteries so much as lifestyle stories—there is certainly a mystery in this novel, but it’s no more and no less important than wine, chickens, great food, swimming lessons, dogs, and music. Benoît “Bruno” Corrèges is the chief of police in tiny St. Denis, in the Dordogne region of southwestern France. He is a lifelong resident, and his connections to the town are many and varied. He is as familiar with the croissant maker as with the local laws governing livestock.
A Shooting at Chateau Rock

He relishes quality writing in all genres but advises particularly on police procedure for authors including John Harvey and Jon McGregor.
D-Day: The End of Wars?
The fall of Hitler's Third Reich on VE Day, May 8, 1945, was not just end of the war in Europe. It also signaled the end of the European tribal wars of Europe's nation states that had raged periodically for some 400 years. The nation states spread out Almost as soon as Europe's great nation states began to form in England, France and Spain they began to fight. They fought among themselves — and with those pre-modern state systems of the Tsarist and Habsburg Empires and the Prussian monarchy.
Toxoplasma gondii: An Underestimated Threat?
Highlights Accumulating evidence suggests that latent infection with Toxoplasma gondii is associated with a variety of neuropsychiatric and behavioural conditions. Many of the conditions associated with T. gondii can be explained by emerging understanding of the parasite’s neurotropic activity. The public health burden of latent infection may far outweigh that caused by acute and congenital toxoplasmosis.
