Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — Some extremely cold air will remain in place this weekend. And expect some lake effect snow at times as well. As usual, the lake effect snow will impact a few areas, but not all. But by Sunday and Sunday night, a significant snow is likely for much of the area. For the short term, the cold temperatures and very low wind chill values will be the biggest challenge. Through Friday, the air temperature will drop down through the teens, even despite some sunshine.

Rochester, NY (13WHAM) - After experiencing some above average temperatures recently, a return to mid-winter weather is on its way. Temperatures started the day Wednesday ten degrees above the average high temperature for this time of year. But by Thursday, we'll be dealing with blowing snow and below-zero wind chills. Temperatures will remain above-average during all of Wednesday, despite being on a downward trend through the day.
