A Liberal Democrat MP has been suspended from the party after he was arrested. Cameron Thomas, the MP for Tewkesbury, was arrested by Gloucestershire Constabulary on Wednesday night. The nature of his alleged offence is not yet known. He will lose the party whip in the Commons as well as being suspended from membership of the Lib Dems. A party spokesman said: “Cameron Thomas MP has had the party whip suspended pending the outcome of a police investigation.

What was your first job as a journalist?

Not a job, in that I usually don't get paid, though I have been a couple times. My first published piece was a submission to Counterpunch.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I made the top story of The American Conservative, with "Whither the Antiwar Movement", beating out Pat Buchanan who was right below me.
