On Lincoln County teen Joseph Hefner became a Cub Scout at age 6. His dad, Jimmy Hefner, told him that if he was going to do Scouts, he was going to do it to the end. During a June 7 afternoon ceremony at Lincolnton’s Betty G. Ross Park, Joseph received his Eagle Scout badge. The 18-year-old had made it “to the end.” “My parents presented and pinned the badge on my uniform,” Joseph reported. Joseph is now one of an elite group who’ve attained Boy Scouting’s highest rank.
