Schild analysis of the interaction between parthenolide and cocaine for their effects on planarian motility suggests an allosteric relationship.
Abstract Freshwater planarians are an emerging animal model in neuropharmacology due to the parallels of their nervous system with the nervous system of vertebrates. Cocaine is a naturally occurring abused drug and the "founding member" of the local anesthetic family. Sesquiterpene lactones of the parthenolide class are naturally occurring products that act as behavioral and physiological antagonists of cocaine in planarians and rats, respectively.

Commentary: Roads? The way Monroe Mountain is going, we don’t need roads.
How does an award-winning, collaborative, 10-year restoration project for Utah’s state tree – the aspen – suddenly get dissed as a project that would be more successful if only more roads could be punched into Monroe Mountain? It’s a head-scratcher.

How “Home” Has Changed: A Reflection on Freshman Year
For a majority of your life, your home is the house in which you live. When you go home, it is to the address in which you are so very used to living at. However, once you get to college, home gets to be a confusing thing. This past year, I moved from Chicago to Philadelphia to attend my first year at Jefferson. Being twelve hours away from my home and not knowing anyone going into college was very weird at first. The biggest help for me to begin feeling comfortable at school was getting involved.

The Art of Being Average
Have you ever felt like you aren’t good enough at something to spend time or money on it? Maybe you love to dance, but can’t do a graceful pirouette in a room full of skilled dancers. Or maybe you love to paint, but don’t see the point in spending money on supplies if your art isn’t even that good. Whatever the case is, you are keeping yourself from doing the things you love because you don’t feel that you are good enough. In our society, being average is seen as a negative thing.
Machine Learning Is Our Best Weapon Against Spiraling Cyberthreats
The security industry is facing a perfect storm created by the combination of an acute skill shortage, an expanding attack surface and increasingly sophisticated adversaries. As a result, the tactics that have served us in the past will no longer suffice. The only way to battle these mounting threats is through collaboration and the strategic use of machine learning to transform computers into trusted allies in the battle against cyberattackers.
Finding Your Style and What it Can Do For You
There are a lot of “fashion rules” in the world. Some are all about colors and prints, like the rule that pink and red should not be styled together. Other rules are more restrictive and even offensive. There are certain ways that you are told to dress based on your body type. Somehow, sheer has been named a material only thinner people can wear. The gendering of certain clothing items represents an unstated rule. No matter what your shape, you should be able to wear whatever you want.

If you ask James Kozloski, you won’t get a quick answer, but it will definitely be an interesting one. Kozloski, who is a manager of computational neuroscience and multiscale brain modeling for IBM Research, is always coming up with new ideas.
How to Reclaim Valentine's Day
Valentine’s Day can be overwhelming. The holiday is marketed as a day to celebrate romantic relationships, and perfect couples can be seen in every advertisement. For the majority of the month of February, everything is decorated with pink and red hearts. PDA is seen everywhere, as couples profess their love to each other. At work and school, gifts are given, and anyone who doesn’t receive flowers can feel their self-worth drop.

Going to a Concert Alone
I have always been an independent person. However, I recently tested my independence and confidence by going to a concert alone. When I found out that one of my favorite bands, Balmorhea, was performing in Philly and tickets were only $12, I was so excited! With no friends very interested in the band, I decided that I would go alone. I was nervous but ultimately had a great time. Reasons to go to a concert alone:
Can Melbourne be changed to fix our problem with loneliness?
"People who have stronger ties to their neighbourhood are happier," she says. For those who dream about making their neighbourhood a better place, landscape architect Hartley will host a series of workshops to show how to get new community projects off the ground. "Everyone has a role to play in designing the city," she says. We seem to have lost our connection to our local community with 61 per cent saying they do not trust their neighbours, according to research by the City of Melbourne.

Catholic women's history in Catholic women's hands
I had forgotten, until Quinn's book reminded me, that Pope John Paul II told church housekeepers to give thanks for their vocation to cook and clean for priests so the men could do their important work. I missed the fact that Chicago Cardinal John Cody forbade Maryknoll Sr. Melinda Roper from preaching in her home parish after the murder of her sisters and colleagues in El Salvador in the early 1980s.
