One person was taken to Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth after a two-vehicle accident in Grand Lake Township Sunday night. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at around 8:15PM, a KIA Sorento was traveling southbound, and a Lexus Es was traveling northbound on Highway 53 when they collided at Bergstrom Junction. The driver of the Lexus Es was taken to Duluth for non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is not suspected to be a cause of the crash.

The South St. Louis County Fair completed its 105th year bringing summer fun to the Northland on Sunday. George Korich, President of the South St. Louis County Fair Board, said this year saw less people coming through their gates due to inclement weather. The bands from out of town arrived, so did the weather. And we were under the rain on the first night, on Friday, and that kind of hurt a lot of things like the rodeo and whatnot.
