We generated a large P. falciparum protein library encompassing much of the asexual parasite proteome for the first time using the WGCFS expression system, and this library was screened with antibodies from Malian adults having naturally acquired antibody responses as a result of repeated malaria infections. Antigen-specific antibody responses against 3 proteins, out of 325 immunoreactive ones with TM and/or SP tested, showed significant correlations with the functional activity measured by GIA.
