What was your first job as a journalist?

Depends how you consider it. I started out freelancing in production for a few local broadcast stations. Later I worked for SiliconANGLE.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

No, I haven't but I did watch California Typewriter.

How is social media changing news?

Yes, in part it's creating a weird microcosm where whatever gets the most engagement gets the most follow up coverage. With the exception Jeffrey Epstein's death...

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

He wasn't FULLY fictional, but Hunter S. Tompson is more legend than man.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

A few years ago I authored a post about Police Boby cameras, I want to write more post like that.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Reason Magazine. I consider Brian Doherty to be the best analyst covering politics today.
