1. Introduction High-resolution US is the most important imaging modality for the characterization of thyroid nodules (TNs). It is an easy-to-apply and available imaging modality that does not involve ionizing radiation and is non-invasive. In addition to these benefits, it is able to provide high-resolution soft tissue imaging [1]. The evaluation of TNs using US imaging is based on visual characteristics, which are documented during the examination.
