1 Introduction The arterial pulse has long been recognized as an indicator of cardiovascular status, with its diagnostic utility dating back to ancient times. Historically, it was believed to be “sent everywhere simultaneously” [1]. The concept of the arterial pulse as a wave propagation phenomenon began to be explored in the 18th century by Leonard Euler, who formulated the fundamental system of nonlinear conservation equations.
