A cold front moving through the region has brought lightning strikes to the Inland Northwest this morning and will create critical fire weather this afternoon with strong gusty winds.  Plan Your Wednesday A Fire Weather (Red Flag) Warning is in effect for Wednesday from 11 AM to 10 PM. A strong, dry cold front will bring wind gusts between 20 and 30 mph, while the Cascade gaps could see gusts up to 45 mph.

Tuesday brings the hottest temperatures of the week along with critical fire weather conditions. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for several areas today with more coming tomorrow. Plan Your Tuesday Tuesday will be the hottest day of the week as temperatures climb into the mid to high 90s across the Inland Northwest. These temperatures are nearly 10 degrees above normal, making today difficult for people without a way to stay cool.

Monday and Tuesday bring a warming trend with temperatures reaching the 90s. Fire danger will be on the rise too, as winds come back into the forecast. Plan Your Monday Monday marks a warmer start to the week, with temperatures climbing four to eight degrees warmer than Sunday. Highs will reach the upper 80s to mid-90s, with highs of 88 to 91 around Spokane and Coeur d'Alene.
