Three fellow Chasers followed Truex. Brad Keselowski was second with a lap of 193.365mph. “The Miller Lite was really fast here,” Keselowski said following his run.

Harvick’s 34 career Cup win also earned the 2014 NASCAR champion an automatic transfer spot into the second round of the Chase.

Kenseth pulls away late to win Cup race at New Hampshire
LOUDON, N.H. – Matt Kenseth was always near the front of the pack. He stalked the leaders and waited for contenders to wilt. Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. faded down the stretch. So did Denny Hamlin. It almost seemed like a repeat scenario for Kenseth. Just like last fall on the same track when Kevin Harvick’s lead evaporated when he ran out of fuel, Kenseth pounced. He pulled away down the stretch to win the Sprint Cup race on Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

They are two of the four drivers currently on the outside looking in to make the championship race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
NASCAR diary: Matt Kenseth says race got away from them on Sunday
Today would’ve been great if the race had ended around halfway. But, it didn’t and it was pretty frustrating after that point. I don’t really know what happened to be honest. It was kind of like we were at Atlanta a few weeks ago. When the track was clean, the car took off great and we drove all the way up to third. But, once we got halfway through the race, we just lost the handle on the car.
NASCAR diary: Matt Kenseth feels good heading into Auto Club 400
What a difference a day makes. Friday just didn’t go according to plan, but today was much better. From the time we got on the track in the first session, our DEWALT Camry drove pretty well and seems to have decent speed. We made a few adjustments for the final practice session and it fired off for a fast lap. I feel it was OK over the long run, but we still need to be better.
NASCAR Diary: Matt Kenseth says “Drivability” a factor in qualifying
We showed up at the track today with a lot of enthusiasm. Since my move to Joe Gibbs Racing this has been one of our better tracks, especially when it comes to qualifying. Although the day didn’t turn out how we hoped it would, it could have been much worse. We have a couple hours of practice tomorrow to get it dialed in and it’s a long race Sunday.
