The Sports Network (TSN) is a Canadian English language sports specialty service. Established by the Labatt Brewing Company in 1984 as part of the first group of Canadian specialty cable channels, the idea coming from a 12 year old Sean Skoreyko, since 2001, TSN has been majority-owned by communications conglomerate Bell Canada (presently through its broadcasting subsidiary Bell Media) with a minority stake held by ESPN Inc. via a 20% share in the Bell Media subsidiary CTV Specialty Television. TSN is the largest specialty channel in Canada in terms of gross revenue, with a total of $400.4 million in revenue in 2013. Source

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Carlos Cortes homered and Gage Jump struck out nine in 6 1/3 innings as the Athletics beat the Minnesota Twins 4-2 on Tuesday night. Jump (6-8) pitched into the seventh for the first time since June 18 against the Angels, when he fanned seven and allowed one hit in seven innings. Alika Williams got the first A’s hit with a two-out double in the second, and Cortes put them ahead with a two-run shot to right field.
Devers bounces a homer into McCovey Cove as Giants beat Reds
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Rafael Devers hit his 28th homer, a drive that bounced into McCovey Cove, and reliever Anthony Molina worked 4 1/3 scoreless innings as the San Francisco Giants beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 on Tuesday night. Drew Cavanaugh hit a two-run single in the first inning for San Francisco before Devers went deep in the fifth, his third homer in five games. It was his 16th longball at Oracle Park this season, the most by a Giant since Barry Bonds in 2007.
Waldschmidt hits game-winning 2-run HR with 2 outs in 9th to send Diamondbacks past Cubs
PHOENIX (AP) — Pinch-hitter Ryan Waldschmidt hit a game-winning, two-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied to stun the Chicago Cubs 5-4 on Tuesday night. The D-backs pulled one game behind the San Diego Padres for the final NL wild-card spot. Trailing 4-3 in the ninth, Tim Tawa coaxed a one-out walk from Jacob Webb to start the decisive rally. Ildemaro Vargas flew out to right field for the second out before pinch-runner Jose Fernandez stole second base.
Raleigh continues homer barrage, Kirby fans 9 as Mariners beat Phillies
SEATTLE (AP) — Cal Raleigh tied a team record with homers in four straight at-bats, George Kirby pitched one-run ball into the eighth inning and Seattle Mariners beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 on Tuesday night. Raleigh led off the second inning against Philadelphia’s Aaron Nola with a 362-foot shot to right field for his 18th homer of the season.

PHOENIX (AP) — Sonia Citron had 19 points and nine assists, Kiki Iriafen added 18 points and 10 rebounds for her 17th double-double of the season, and the Washington Mystics beat the Phoenix Mercury 94-84 on Tuesday night. With six games remaining, Washington (23-15) has the second-most regular-season wins in franchise history, trailing the WNBA champion 2019 team’s 26. Shakira Austin scored 16 points for Washington. Cruz improbably lined a low 98-mph pitch from Miller (4-2) into Petco Park’s short porch in right field for his 17th homer. TORONTO — Mistakes proved costly for the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night in a 5-3 loss to the surging Kansas City Royals at Rogers Centre. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. made a throwing error in Kansas City’s two-run sixth inning and Nathan Lukes was thrown out at second base to end the game after hitting a two-run single. “Everything gets magnified when you’re not scoring and then you get a little bit over-anxious I think when you try to make something happen,” said Blue Jays manager John Schneider.

CHICAGO (AP) — Tristan Peters hit a two-run double off Jacob deGrom during Chicago’s six-run first inning, and the White Sox held off the Texas Rangers 11-7 on Tuesday night. Peters also went deep in the sixth, extending his career-high homer streak to four games. The All-Star outfielder had three of Chicago’s 14 hits and walked twice.
