The Sports Network (TSN) is a Canadian English language sports specialty service. Established by the Labatt Brewing Company in 1984 as part of the first group of Canadian specialty cable channels, the idea coming from a 12 year old Sean Skoreyko, since 2001, TSN has been majority-owned by communications conglomerate Bell Canada (presently through its broadcasting subsidiary Bell Media) with a minority stake held by ESPN Inc. via a 20% share in the Bell Media subsidiary CTV Specialty Television. TSN is the largest specialty channel in Canada in terms of gross revenue, with a total of $400.4 million in revenue in 2013. Source

(AP) — Chase Briscoe held off Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Christopher Bell to win his second straight NASCAR playoff race in a photo finish on Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, vaulting him into contention to win his first Cup Series championship. The two exchanged paint on the final lap, but Briscoe maintained control of his No. 19 Toyota and got to the finish line about a half-car length ahead of Bell. It was the eighth win of Briscoe’s career and third this season. He led 62 laps.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The good news for the Chicago Bears on a hugely disappointing day is the possibility that quarterback Caleb Williams is getting closer to returning from the hamstring injury that has sidelined him for three games. Chicago coach Ben Johnson said after a 31-7 loss at Green Bay on Sunday that Williams might be available when the Bears visit Atlanta next week. Williams practiced on a limited basis Friday. “He’s on track,” Johnson said. “We’ll see if it’s Atlanta or after.
Mendoza makes NFL debut in Raiders’ blowout loss to Patriots
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Fernando Mendoza made his NFL debut under unceremonious circumstances on Sunday. The top pick in this year’s NFL draft took over at quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth quarter of a 45-17 loss to the New England Patriots.
Lakers center Kessler (finger) nears preseason debut
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Walker Kessler, the Los Angeles Lakers’ biggest offseason acquisition both literally and figuratively, is closing in on making his preseason debut with his new franchise. Kessler was a full participant in practice Sunday for the first time since the first two days of training camp when he jammed his left pinkie finger on the backboard while attempting to block a shot. The 7-foot-2, 245-pound center said he has been limited by the pinkie for “precautionary” reasons.
49ers LB Greenlaw ejected after head-butting a Seahawks player
SEATTLE (AP) — San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw was ejected after head-butting Seattle’s Ernest Jones IV after he delivered a late hit on the Seahawks sideline. The infraction came in the second quarter on Sunday when Sam Darnold scrambled and was hit late by Greenlaw after going out of bounds, leading to a personal foul. Several Seahawks defenders immediately confronted Greenlaw after the hit and Greenlaw responded by head-butting Jones, who wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Daniels, Commanders settle for tie with Giants after botching final play of OT

(AP) — Jayden Daniels took off on an ill-advised scramble in the closing seconds of overtime with the Commanders in field goal range and Washington was unable to stop the clock before time expired, settling for a 27-27 tie with the New York Giants on Sunday after both teams made critical mistakes in the extra period. Washington (1-3-1) got the ball with 2 minutes left in OT when Daron Payne stripped the ball from Cam Skattebo with the Giants in range for a game-ending field goal.
