The Steelers feel ‘really good' about the distribution of touches for Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle
When the Steelers signed Rico Dowdle in the offseason, reuniting the two-time 1,000-yard rusher with coach Mike McCarthy, the chatter throughout the spring and training camp centered on his potential share of touches with Jaylen Warren. "We really got a dynamic one-two punch, in my opinion," McCarthy said in early August. But when Dowdle missed three games with a toe injury, Warren shined as the feature back.

The Steelers threw Everette into the fire, but rookie CB has been there before
Daylen Everette got beat. This was long before he’d be thrust headfirst into a role in the Steelers secondary few could have seen coming for the rookie cornerback — not this early, at least. No, this was on a practice field on the sprawling 600-acre IMG Academy campus in Bradenton, Fla. High schoolers come from all over carrying grand football ambitions. Everette was no different. Pitt volleyball sweeps Florida State behind standout freshmen performances
Maaike Heilig arrived at Pitt more experienced than most freshmen, starring previously on the international stage with her home country of Netherlands. Prep Talk: Ranking the top 10 wide receivers in the WPIAL this century
One in an occasional series on top players, teams, athletes and games in WPIAL-City League sports since 2000. Scouting services rank Pine-Richland’s Khalil Taylor among the top 20 senior receivers in the country. And that brings up an interesting question. We didn’t have to motivate them more than just taking the clippings and putting them up on the board,” Rams coach Roger Beitel said. “[It was] everything from being ... predicted to be the worst team in [Class] 2A and that the ceiling might be three wins.” Ligonier Valley left three wins in its wake about a month ago.
With 1976 national championship team in attendance, Pitt can’t capture magic against North Carolina Original
The whispers started in the morning, right around 9 a.m. Near the southwest corner of Acrisure Stadium, a few jolly security guards and gameday employees were gathered in a loose circle when one posed a question. “Is Tony gonna be there?” he asked. He sure was. A few hours later, planted at midfield — 50 years since he won the Heisman Trophy and guided Pitt to the 1976 national championship — he extended his right arm off to the side, lifted his right knee off the grass and struck the pose.
This is an image of euphoria, unbridled in all its glory and staged atop the synthetic turf of the Louisiana Superdome. Here’s Mike Suley, right in the middle of it. The Pitt superfan was 27 then. A brown belt is fastened around his dark blue jeans.
