BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) - More than 41,000 seniors die each year after suffering fall-related injuries, and U.S. Sen. Jim Justice is pushing legislation he says would help reduce that number. Justice introduced the Stopping Addiction and Falls for the Elderly, or SAFE Act, last July. The bill would allow seniors on Medicare to receive a no-cost fall assessment from a physical therapist as part of their annual wellness check. Justice visited First Settlement Physical Therapy in Beckley on Monday.
