This morning I went for a walk through the Sussex countryside. The air was fresh, the paths a little muddy underfoot, and the hedgerows buzzing with late summer insects. It was one of those gentle strolls where your mind drifts more than your feet move. A thinking walk. The kind that feeds the soul more than the legs. I paused at a field gate and watched a herd of cows. Most were doing what cows do best. Grazing. Heads down, chewing steadily, slowly moving as a group in one direction.

Let’s be honest. Authors don’t always get weekends. Our minds are constantly tuned to characters, ideas, chapter rewrites, and half-finished plot twists whispering, “You forgot me again.” But even in a world where creativity can strike at any hour, I’ve come to treasure one sacred day: Sunday.
