Prevalence of Metabolic‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease in Patients With Primary Aldosteronism
1 Introduction Primary aldosteronism (PA) is a group of disorders characterised by inappropriately high aldosterone secretion for sodium levels and volemic status, autonomous from renin-angiotensin system regulation and serum potassium concentration. PA is the most common endocrine form of secondary hypertension, with an estimated prevalence of 10% in hypertensive patients and even higher (20%–30%) among those with resistant hypertension.
