Matt Singer’s Biography

Matt Singer is a Webby Award winning film critic and podcaster. He currently runs Criticwire, the blog of film criticism, at Indiewire (http://blogs.indiewire.com/criticwire, and co-hosts the Filmspotting: Streaming Video Unit podcast (http://www.filmspottingsvu.com). His writing has appeared in print in The Village Voice, Time Out New York, and Time Out Chicago, and online at The A.V. Club and ScreenCrush. He was also a contributor to Ebert Presents at the Movies, and has also appeared on CBS This Morning, MTV, and E! Previously, he was the on-air host of IFC News at the Independent Film Channel. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, dog, and a prop sword from the movie "Gymkata."
