Working for the Independent Film Channel, covering film festivals as their on camera host.

It means being your own editor.

Why did you become a journalist?

A childhood spent watching "Siskel & Ebert" on television.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I really loved getting to write from a theoretical perspective about super hero comics for The Village Voice. That was a thrill.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Have cheap tastes.
