Interview
What was your first job as a journalist?
I created a video game blog called Gaming Target back in 1999 when I was just 14, the start of my journalism career.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email – if it's interesting, I'll usually see it.
What's your favorite social network?
X (aka Twitter). It grew on me and I reached 1M followers (back when it was Twitter), which has been a boon for engagement.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked at a Penn State newspaper called The Lion's Roar and became the lead editor after a few semesters. Great experience.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Helping 400,000 people get a PS5 when it was out of stock. It was a content series I started at TechRadar and how I launched The Shortcut.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Anything that's not personal and convincing. I tend to skip those. Contacts are important, as we get so much SPAM.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Living life in NYC or traveling.
