The Cu(I) complex {[Cu (biq) ]ClO -biq} with biq = 2,2-biquinoline, was prepared, fully characterized and its properties compared with those of the well-known [Cu (biq) ]ClO complex. The crystal structures were obtained for both complexes (crystal structure for [Cu (biq) ]ClO has not been previously reported).

Enhanced photostability of cuprous oxide by lignin films on glassy carbon electrodes in the transformation of carbon dioxide

Photoelectrochemical reduction of CO was investigated on carbon electrodes modified with lignin and cuprous oxide. The electrodes were modified by electropolymerization of lignin and subsequent pulse electrodeposition of Cu O. Characterization of the electrodes was performed by SEM microscopy; Raman; IR-ATR; and UV-visible spectroscopies, as well as electrochemical methods.
