What was your first job as a journalist?
I worked at this place called Filmoria. Good experience of being an editor and working with writers all over the world.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No I have never.
How is social media changing news?
No need for RSS or newspapers. News comes fast and crazy on the internet.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Having a voice and opinion that people care about. That's what it is for me.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Wordpress, Medium, Photoshop, Audacity. Things that make my life easier.
What's your favorite social network?
I spend way too much time on Twitter.
Who do you wish followed you?
Bilge Ebiri, Susan Arendt. Basically people I admire and/or have worked for. That would be the best situation.
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I wanted to tell everyone what was going on in the world of pop culture. I was always fascinated when something new was announced.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. I did work in College Radio though.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I really enjoyed writing about Akira. That article got a lot of attention and I was really proud of it.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Keep pitching, don't work for free, and prepare for setbacks. It is a way of life.

Iced Coffee.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Spending time with family.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
There are a few I love to read, but honestly, I really look forward to The Ringer's weekly NFL Winners and Losers.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That I'm only a movies guy. I also cover video games, anime, technology, and television.
