From the Basement: 4 Nations Face-Off was awesome
Categories: February 26, 2025 This year, the NHL its All-Star Game and brought back best-on-best international hockey for the first time since 2016. Since then, a mixture of the pandemic and disagreements between the NHL and the Olympics has blocked the best hockey players in the world from representing their country. From the basement: Is NBA’s All-Star Game dead?
This year’s NBA All-Star Game was an insult to the game of basketball. Plain and simple. January 31, 2024 While the New Orleans Pelicans find themselves in a familiar spot in the standings — No. 8 in the Western Conference at the time of this writing — this season feels different. For one, much of the team, including 23-year-old Zion Williamson, has been relatively healthy all season, and the “season wasted because of injuries” theme appears to be finally gone — fingers crossed.
From the Basement | Is Jokic deserving of MVP three-peat?
Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid or Giannis Antetokounmpo — with less than a month to go in the NBA season, it seems clear that these three big men will be the finalists for MVP for the second year running. Jokic could potentially win for the third-straight year. But does Jokic, a player with no finals appearances, currently tied for 17th in league scoring, really deserve such a historic accomplishment?
