SOTC. What's Next?
I'm down to a 3 everyday watch collection minus the G-Shock 5610 not pictured. The Seiko in the corner is my dad's retirement watch that I occasionally wear and won't be selling for obvious reasons. I have to wear a suit about three times per week until I retire which is about 15 years out. I'm kind of debating between a few fun things (4 slots left in the box) versus an aspirational piece. My budget is 0-20k. What would you buy?

Paring Down the Collection/SOTC 2026
I'm going to be paring down to a 4 watch collection. I'm going to be selling off a few watches not pictured, but I'm debating what my final form should be for at least the next year. L to R, the watches I'm keeping are: 1. JLC Reverso Tribute. It's my work watch and I wear it 4 days a week. 2. Omega Speedmaster. My daily and weekender. 3. Quartz Seiko. My dad's retirement watch. I wear it occasionally at work.
SOTC, Elimination round help me decide which one to cut
I have a six-watch box that was a gift from my wife when I started "collecting" watches, which I suppose was when I had more than 3. When she gave it to me, she said I need to keep my collection to 6, and while I'm sure I could push back on this, I actually find it useful to limit my collections, and for watches, I find 6 to ba a good number.
Hello - I'm A Scammer
The title was edited by moderator. As for the poster, first they make several throwaway posts like this one. Then, making the genius calculation that they've thereby gained the trust of the community, they start spamming existing WTB posts with BS offers. It's way more niche than sending out millions of emails, and I'm dubious of the success rate. Perhaps spam filter efficacy is such that they need a slightly different angle?

I’ve always liked CWC. I’ve owned at least a dozen of both military issued and civilian varieties over the years (if not more) and the SBS version is one of the best in my opinion. Quartz movement, day/ date feature, torch-like lume and fixed lugs for quick strap changes make it an easy grab ‘n go for me. What’s on your wrist?
Help for the (very) small wristed- 5.5 inches
#1 · Hello everybody! First time posting here. I've recently gotten into watches but have run into a small problem. I cannot find anything to fit my tiny 5.5 inch wrist! I looked around, but many women's watches are too ladylike for me to wear. Is there any watch out there around $500 that meets most of the following?

Things can happen fast on r/WatchExchange. Rolex being sold in Men's Clothings store
So there is a store where I live that is in a recently gentrified part of the city. The clothes they sell are ridiculously expensive and the other stores in the area are extremely expensive. This is a men's store whose hq is out of town. They had 2 rolexes and some omegas in a case. The rolexes were 5600 and 9860. I asked what the year was and if they came with papers, etc, because the watch was a 1980.
SOTC Nov 2024 - Should I Consolidate?
#1 · Hello everyone. I have been collecting for a while now and feel that I have accumulated a solid collection of mid-tier pieces. However, recently I have been thinking about consolidating some of the collection that is not getting worn as frequently. The top row is really the core collection that get's the most wear. My Submariner and Omega Aqua Terra both have sentimental value and are worn regularly, so I am not considering moving either of those.
Opinions on Hanhart's new diver- Aquasphere?
I feel like there were some misses here..... Size is a 42mm. A 40mm would be a sweet spot for many. The 12 numeral with all baton markers is odd. Looks too much like a Breitling.
Can anyone identify this watch?
#1 · Hi, I need some help identifying the specific model of Omega. Right hand page, the watch with the round face. It was bought in 1987 we think, possibly 1988. bought in Switzerland. my dad was gifted this watch back then, and a few years later it got stolen at his place of work. All relevant and original documents were thrown out eventually as the watch was never recovered. my father passed in 1998, so I can’t ask him anymore. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone Else Using AI in Their Watch Hobby?
I have not, but I did use AI to try to make comparisons between online Spanish classes offered between various colleges and programs recently and found that it generated a lot of false information.

Why did Seiko kill the MM300?
As I sit waiting to recieve my third (I bought and sold two previously) and hopefully last MM300 in the mail, it raises the question as to why Seiko decided to kill the line off. Does anyone have any inside scoop about what happened and why it went down the way it did?
A terrible experience with Jean Rousseau
Has anyone else had customer service issues with Jean Rousseau? I ordered and paid for an off the shelf strap back in May. They were happy to take my money, but haven't shipped anything and won't respond to any of my emails. I ordered a custom strap three years ago that required quite a bit of prodding to get done which I excused for covid. Today, I opened a dispute with my credit card company. For an alleged luxury goods company, the level of service is dismal.
Hodinkee Insurance new requirements
#2 · Recently updated my coverages on Hodinkee Insurance. Whereas before, the only requirements for adding a watch to the policy was a photo and some basic make/model info, now each watch needs: 3 photos Proof of purchase showing your name Serial number For those whose collections turn over with high frequency, this diminishes the usability of Hodinkee's coverage. Digging around the inbox for receipts and tracking down serial numbers is not something I'm very interested.
Purchase Recommendations (SOTC)
I'm thinking of consolidating my five watch collection to three watches. I don't want this to be construed as a sales post, so I won't mention what is going, but I would like to start looking for a fourth piece. What's left is: (1) JLC Reverso Tribute. I wear this as a dress watch, mostly. I'm in a suit 2-5 days a week, so this gets a lot of mileage. (2) Omega Seamaster 300m. This is my daily. I keep it on an aftermarket bracelet, Isofrane, or a sailcloth nato. (3) G-Shock 5610.
SOTC. Any ideas for the last slot?
I've wheeled and dealed my box over 15 years to the below. Any idea how I should feel the last slot or two spaces considering I'm always wear one? My budget is between 2-18k. I've got a G-Shock and don't really want a Speedmaster. I'm thinking either gold something or a steel Daytona, but I'm thinking for outside the box choices. L to R (Top) 1. Omega Diver 300m. 2. Doxa Sub 300T Professional. 3. Dom Geneve - My grandfather emigrated to Canada from Finland in this watch. It's a family heirloom. 4.
Watch thieves in NYC
#1 · I grew up 30 minutes from New York City, I’ve lived in Manhattan, and visit frequently. It’s as safe as any other big city, and probably safer. So I’m not knocking the city or trying to cause paranoia. But this story is in today‘s NY Times and I thought it might interest people here. I’m impressed by the watch knowledge of the thieves: they seem to know their stuff, rather than just grabbing anything that says Rolex.
Mavado watch. I need to know what courts movement it is.
Okay. I am looking for. a court's movement. from Avatar. Watch Movement Serial number 14328478. The other number on the watch is. 1 4 dash, 1 dash, 1 4 dash, 1059. If anyone could help me out here that would be great It's my brother's favorite watch. and I need to know what movement goes into it.
OP/AT Alternatives.
Below is a pic of the current stable. I'm looking to buy a silver OP or light colored AT in the next year, but am not really sold on spending 6-7k on a casual sport piece, either. I'd like something on a bracelet that's dressy enough for a suit, but also wears somewhat casual. Aside from the various Formex offerings, I'm not coming up with much. I'm not super fond of the Portofino.
Forstner End links on SMP
Has anyone had trouble getting their post-2018 Forstner bracelet to attach to a new 300 SMP? Try as I might, I can't get the springbars to pop into place. I'm beginning to think Omega changed where they drill the lug holes in the past year or something. I'm about an inch off of sending it all back as I've never had so many problems swapping out a bracelet in my life.

Wearing experience of Doxa Army on smaller wrists
I’m really interested in buying a Doxa Army since it seems like a unique tool watch and can be found in an affordable range for me. I have a 6.25in wrist and usually wear watches in the 36-40mm diameter range and if they’re 42mm I try to keep the lug to lug shorter or find ones with downward curving lugs. Do any of you have experience with the watch and have a similar wrist size? I’d greatly appreciate any insights.
Restoration Advice
This watch was my grandfather's. It's a long story, but when he died, he took a fall shattering the crystal and the hands popped off the stem. The hands were long gone when I got it. In 2007, I was just getting into watches, didn't know better, and had it restored by a bit of a hack. He put the above hands on, switched the crown with something he found in his shop, and got it running, but never got it regulated well. I'd like to get it as close to original as I can and start wearing it.
Aerospace Maintenance Costs
I'm thinking of buying a used Aerospace (Evo or B-1). The prices seem to hover between $1500-2500, depending on condition and whether the full kit is available. A full overhaul is currently $650 at Breitling. The grey market for an Evo or the new B70 is about $3600-4000.
Am I crazy for trading a Cartier Santos to help fund a DateJust 41 purchase?
I know I posted a couple days ago regarding some options I was given by my AD. Am I crazy for trading a Cartier Santos to help fund a DateJust 41 purchase? The DJ41 fits my style more. I don't wear the Santos a ton. Maybe once per week. I have an OP41 and a Tag Link that get most of the wear on the wrist. *I would also be selling my OP41 later once I acquire the DJ41.
Real or Fake? Patel Philippe Geneve
Recently got a collection of watches from my grandfather, who had a variety of cheap and expensive watches, This one however really caught my eye and I'm not much of a watch person to tell.
Bel Canto indecision
#1 · I bought a black dial Christopher Ward Bel Canto when they first came out after the limited editions. After delay after delay, and some lousy communications from Christopher Ward, I finally got the watch. I am really not feeling it. I am impressed with the functionality, and aspects of the finish, but it just doesn’t wow me like thought it would. It kind of feels cheap to me. The crystal seems dull, the titanium feels grainy. I tried to return it and for some reason DHL returned it back to me.
Show Us Your EDC Watch
#2 · So no keys, ring, knife, handkerchief, glasses, flashlight, etc.? Just a watch? But then again, I might be banned for showing my EDC. #4 · #3 · Someone doesn't understand what EDC means. #6 · Uh yeah. Anyone else change their EDC dependant upon the season? Smaller calibre Summers, etc? #8 · Nope, God's caliber year round. I do, however, step it down a few sizes when I'm out of the house but not on the clock. To maintain quantity while being extra sneaky, of course ..

Recommend me a watch.
#1 · I've sold off a bunch of minor things in my collection, and I'd like to replace them with a single watch around 2-3 grand that doesn't duplicate any of the brands in my 4 core watch collection. I'm honestly having a tough time coming up with anything. Based on what I own, what would you recommend?
SOTC collection in one shot thread?
#2 · Nice collection! #3 · #6 · Love the omegas and the CW! #4 · Great collection. #5 · Very nice. Love that Omega. #8 · I’ve got a thing for dive watches. Rolex SD43, Panerai Luminor Base Logo 01086, Breitling Avenger II Seawolf, Tag Aquaracer 300 43MM, Seiko Turtle, Seiko King Turtle Dark Manta Ray, Seiko King Turtle and my two G-Shocks. #9 · Yeah, but each one is a heavy hitter in that lineup. I would love to add a PAM, a Doxa and I was also tempted by the seiko slim turtle this year…..

The New Seiko MarineMaster 😱
#2 · I like the branding on the dial, but the 200m water resistance seems to render this watch another thing. Pretty much nothing about this says Marinemaster to me except for the dial, in fact. #3 · #7 · 😂😂😂 #4 · I don't get these. There's nothing about it that's really any different from any other ISO rated Seiko 200M watch. No MM300 clasp, no system for He escape that I can tell. Why is this different from a watch like SLA065? Why is this a Marinemaster and that isn't?

Collection Sell Off (SOTC)
After a long time searching to see it in the flesh, I happened across and bought my grail yesterday. I'm reducing to a three watch collection. I have a bunch of stuff I've decided to sell, but am torn between keeping one of the two watches below. I love them both, but one needs to go as I don't believe in carrying interest or putting non-play money into watches and I need to complete the flip. In a vacuum, which would you keep and which would you flip?
Marinemaster 300 Discontinued
I've been reading that the MM300 model is being discontinued by Seiko. This is what Gnomon's website says, "FINAL DELIVERY: This will be the final delivery for the iconic MM300. And will probably be replaced with something more expensive. If you have been following the MM300 since the SBDX001 and 017 era, you know the prices are only going up and never down. This is probably the last chance to own a MM300 at this price." Has anyone verified this elsewhere?
Mid Year Consolidation/SOTC
I'm in the process of consolidating my core collection from 8 to 6. I have about 4‐6k to spend after selling some pieces to fund the open slot. The Grand Seiko fills my dress watch slot. The Doxa, Seiko MM300 & Synchron, I like to swim and hike with. The IWC Mark XVIII is pretty versatile as something I can dress up or down with different straps. Is there an obvious hole in my collection that I should be looking to fill? Perhaps another dress watch?
750T vs. 1500T
For those in the know, what's the big difference here besides the bracelets (BOR vs Super Engineer)? I was looking at the dimensions and they don't seem like super different watches. I understand there are minor differences, but the 1500T seems very close to the 750T. What was theory behind discontinuing the 750T and introducing the 1500T as a regular model? Assuming they aren't very different, doesn't that make the 1500T just another version of the 750T?
