(1,2) In this context, ammonia (NH3) emerges as a promising candidate for a carbon-free energy carrier due to its high energy density (4.32 kWh L–1), hydrogen content (17.65 wt %), low boiling point (−33.3 °C at 1 atm), and mature transport infrastructure.

Synthesis and Characterization of the Catalysts [Cu(bzimpy)Cl 2 ] and [Cu(pyrben) 2 (NO 3 )]NO 3 were synthesized according to the procedures reported by Kirpik et al. (27) and Patel et al., (28) respectively. The former complex was isolated from the purification step as a crystalline solid containing a DMF molecule in the structure, [Cu(bzimpy)Cl 2 ].DMF. (29) The complete removal of the DMF was carried out by a heat treatment at 220 °C, as shown in thermogravimetric analysis ( Figure S1 ).
