Melanie Deziel’s Biography
Melanie Deziel is a content strategist, consultant and speaker who has won multiple awards for native advertising. She travels the country educating marketers, journalists and students on the role that native advertising and branded content can play in their overall business strategy, offering actionable tips and insights on how to executive it most effectively. She is also the founder of The Overlap League, the native ad industry newsletter.
As Director of Creative Strategy at Time Inc., Melanie creates innovative branded content campaigns that span 30+ print and digital properties, including Sports Illustrated, People, Fortune, Entertainment Weekly, Health and Travel+Leisure. She has done content strategy and social strategy for both HuffPost Partner Studio and The New York Times’s T Brand Studio, where she created the pieces that won the 2014 and 2015 OMMA Award for Best Native Advertising Single Execution. She has also served as an executive judge for the Digiday Content Marketing Awards.
She has an undergraduate degree in journalism from UConn, and a M.A. in Arts Editing from Syracuse University's Newhouse School, where she was named one of 50 Honorees at the school's 50th anniversary celebration.
