Owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, it is a sister station to MyNetworkTV affiliate WABM (channel 68, also licensed to Birmingham) and Homewood-licensed CW affiliate WTTO (channel 21); Sinclair also operates Bessemer-licensed WDBB (channel 17), which serves as a full satellite station of WTTO, under a time brokerage agreement (TBA) with Sinclair partner company Cunningham Broadcasting. However, Sinclair effectively owns WDBB as the majority of Cunningham's stock is owned by the family of deceased group founder Julian Smith. Source

None injured in Birmingham church fire
Birmingham Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at a church on 39th Avenue. Responders arrived at 4021 39th Ave around 12:04 p.m. to the exterior of the building in flames. The fire department was able to get the two story commercial fire under control almost half an hour later at 12:33 p.m.

Deputies with the Cullman County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) were able to locate and arrest James Jackson Pace, a man who previously served 15 years in Alabama for the convicted rape and sodomy of an 8-year-old girl. Pace was originally released from prison in Jan. 2022.

AUSTIN, Texas — A new lawsuit is seeking to halt Texas’ newly implemented THC rules, as hemp industry groups warn the changes could force popular Delta-8 products off shelves and put some businesses at risk of closing. The Department of State Health Services’ new THC rules went into effect Friday. Under the change, the agency is now classifying delta-8 products as controlled substances, making it illegal to sell those items as of Friday.
