FREDERICK, Md., September 11, 2026—Amazon announced $163,000 in grants to 17 Frederick County nonprofits and community organizations through its Frederick County Community Fund. The company revealed the awards yesterday, September 10th, at Cultivating Community, which brought together community partners, leaders, and local changemakers helping Frederick County grow and thrive.

Amazon Leo is adding six new Ariane 6 launches, expanding its total Arianespace commitment from 18 to 24 launches. Arianespace has delivered 100 Amazon Leo satellites to orbit across three missions in less than five months. Long-term launch agreements support hundreds of suppliers and thousands of highly skilled jobs across Europe. Amazon Leo is expanding its launch commitment with Arianespace, adding six new Ariane 6 contracts and bringing total contracted launch capacity from 18 to 24 launches.

Amazon and Wiwynn announced a facility expansion in Socorro, Texas, to boost U.S. manufacturing and create nearly 1,000 jobs. The expanded site helps to strengthen Amazon’s supply chain with U.S.-manufactured server racks. Amazon has invested more than $100 billion in Texas since 2010, with 86,000 employees working across the state. Amazon and Wiwynn announced an expansion of Wiwynn’s manufacturing operations in Socorro, Texas.
