Arkansas Times, a weekly alternative newspaper based in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a publication that has circulated for nearly 40 years, originally as a magazine. Its current format stems from reaction to the Arkansas Democrat's buyout of assets from Gannett's closure of the Arkansas Gazette in 1991, which had resulted in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Source

Fiscal session? Rep. Brandon Achor has more important things to do.
If you’re the type of person whose job necessitates watching the Arkansas Legislature when they are in session — or if you’re just a weirdo who watches legislative proceedings for fun — you might have noticed that Rep. Brandon Achor (R-Maumelle) has been absent for all but one of the days lawmakers have met during the 2026 fiscal session.

Tucker also explained the reasoning behind his controversial decision to vote in support of Gov. Sarah Sanders’ controversial pick for the state Board of Corrections.

Timothy Neal Beckham, a criminal defense attorney and former chief public defender in Garland County, was arrested Wednesday and charged with several felony drug counts, including possession with intent to distribute and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Details are currently sparse, as the case is not available in CourtConnect as of this writing. According to the Garland County Jail website, Beckham was booked into the jail shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
Amendment filed to remove controversial Sanders advisor Joe Profiri from governor’s staff
A short and otherwise uneventful meeting of the Arkansas Legislature’s Joint Budget Committee on Wednesday offered another glimpse of Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ diminishing aura of infallibility, as Sen. Terry Rice (R-Waldron) submitted an amendment to the governor’s proposed budget to remove funding for the position currently held by Joe Profiri. Profiri was among the first people Sanders brought to Arkansas after she was elected in 2022, and has been perhaps her most public failure.

Too Sweet Bar and Grill is pure Delta juke
My tenure in Central Arkansas is nearly old enough to drink now. I moved here in 2005 for work, first taking an apartment in North Little Rock before buying a house in Little Rock, after having lived much of my life up to that point in eastern Arkansas. The Delta never really agreed with me: those vast expanses of humid flatness that made it feel as if one could never hide, as if one were always visible to the most remote person, should someone happen to be watching.
