The Kansas City Chiefs third and final preseason game wasn't all that exciting. Anytime an NFL contest ends in a 9-9 tie, which is what happened on Friday night against the visiting Seattle Seahawks, it's hard to find anything inspiring to say about it except, "Well, that happened." While there was no official winner or loser in the actual game, we've got some individual hardware to hand out to fill in the gap.

This offseason presented a shift in how the Kansas City Chiefs have typically handled their backfield. Brett Veach decided to make it a priority this spring, signing reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker and former Cardinals running back Emari Demercado while also drafting Emmett Johnson to give the Chiefs' rushing attack some much-needed oomph. Meanwhile, Kansas City opted not to re-sign Isiah Pacheco, their former seventh-round star who helped them win two Super Bowls.

The NFL regular season is almost here! Standing in its way is one final preseason game and for the Kansas City Chiefs, that comes against the Seattle Seahawks on Friday night. It's one final opportunity for these guys to prove what they can do, show they belong on the 53-man roster, and potentially earn a bigger role. While the score of this game won't matter, what these guys do will. Roster cutdown day is just two days from now so these players need to rev up their engines in the preseason finale.

The Kansas City Chiefs are dealing with a couple of concerning injuries on the offensive line, and a new report suggests one might be worse than originally feared. Left tackle Josh Simmons has missed practice and the team's most recent preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a back injury. The Chiefs have Simmons listed as day-to-day, but Andy Reid said on Thursday that Simmons will be sent for more testing, which ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler confirmed on SportsCenter.

When the Kansas City Chiefs spent a fourth-round pick on Jalen Royals in the 2025 draft, fans were pretty excited. Here was a guy who had a third-round grade on him, yet K.C. managed to snag him late into round four. What a great value pick! There were plenty of reasons to be excited about Royals too. Obviously the easy one is that he shares a name with the local MLB team in Kansas City so that right there made him a fan favorite from the start.

The Kansas City Chiefs could have an offensive tackle problem again this season. During the Chiefs' tumultuous 2025 season, many fans wrote off their poor offensive tackle play as a result of some bad injury luck. When draft "experts" suggested they consider an offensive tackle in the first round, many fans laughed at such an absurd suggestion.

With a second-round pick in last year's draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Omarr Norman-Lott. It was a bit of a surprising pick given where Norman-Lott was projected to land in the draft but that's who the Chiefs took and they clearly felt like he was the right guy to come in and help bolster the defensive line. Unfortunately, ONL's season came to an end in Week 7 when he tore his ACL.

Jaden Hicks is more confident than ever coming into his third season. The Kansas City Chiefs are counting on it. Hicks was the Chiefs' fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. After an unexpected slide into the draft's third day, the selection of Hicks was widely hailed as a steal for K.C. But through his first two seasons, Hicks has come up short on those expectations, mired in defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's doghouse for stretches.

This offseason, the Chiefs expressed confidence in their young pass catchers, leaving the WR room largely untouched. Kansas City's only major moves in the wide receiver market were adding Cyrus Allen in the fifth round and retaining Tyquan Thornton, who re-signed with the team after testing free agency. But many felt the Chiefs' front office was overconfident, and we are already seeing some struggles in camp.

If you survey the Buffalo Bills roster these days, one name stands out as a notable player on the bubble for Kansas City Chiefs fans: defensive end Mike Danna. With only a few days to go before NFL teams have to send 37 players to waivers (or the unemployment line) in order to meet the 53-player active roster cap, nearly every 53-man roster projection—from ESPN to A-to-Z Sports to Sports Illustrated to our own BuffaLowdow—has Danna on the outside looking in.
