Kader Kohou was one of a handful of defensive free agents the Kansas City Chiefs added this offseason. The former Miami Dolphins cornerback suffered a torn ACL before last year's regular season. After missing all of 2025 due to injury, Kohou became a cheap addition. The mix of time missed last season, a small salary, and past progress as a former undrafted free agent made him an intriguing buy-low signing.

The Kansas City Chiefs have many highly paid stars on their roster. Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, and Chris Jones are just a few names earning salaries near the top of the market at their respective positions. Patrick Mahomes was just rewarded with another contract extension recently as well. When it comes to filling out the roster for the future, one has to wonder who may be next in line for a contract extension.

A few recent undrafted free agents have made their presence felt with the Kansas City Chiefs. Currently, Christian Roland-Wallace has grown into a versatile piece in heavy defensive back packages. Linebacker Jack Cochrane garnered plenty of snaps on special teams over the last few years. And at linebacker, Cooper McDonald is the next former UDFA looking to secure significant snaps. McDonald made the Chiefs' 53-man roster to open last season, and 289 of his 346 snaps were on special teams.
