With its arrival comes an instinctive urge to loosen the knot on that Full Windsor and imbibe in good company. It’s sacred. It’s communal. It’s decompressing at its finest. Some evenings call for alchemy; others for a few simple ingredients and a cocktail strainer. Make a little room on the bar cart—these recipes are yours to show off.

After you’ve done your tastings and toured your favorite distilleries, you might be asking yourself, “Now what?” While bourbon is obviously the crown jewel of the Bourbon Trail, the towns those distilleries call home are packed with Kentucky-fried experiences worth adding to your itinerary.

If there’s one thing that can get Nashvillians out on a chilly night, it’s bourbon. So, when Bourbon+ hosted a VIP event celebrating rare and collectible spirits this winter, guests were ready and waiting to raise a glass.

As we continue to enjoy the spring season, we’re taking a moment to look back at the flavors that kept us warm during the holidays. Whiskey and Bourbon took center stage at our Bourbon+ event as we put the spotlight on three cocktails that taste just as good now. The recipes prove that good bourbon drinks aren’t dedicated to a single season. Mixologist Di’Angelo Groves crafted three cozy cocktails: Co Malt & Mistletoe, The Holiday Standard, and Dasher, Dancer…Leiper, especially for the event.

She sits across from the camera in a soft cream sweater, bejeweled glasses catching the light from a Chicago window where the temperature has plunged to negative 30. Dee Robinson looks like what she is, a polished professional, a woman who has spent decades meeting in boardrooms and studying balance sheets.

The afternoon light filtered through the windows of The Ariston in downtown Nashville as Paul Pearse settled into one of the leather chairs in the smoking lounge. Around him, the low hum of conversation mixed with the rich aroma of premium tobacco. A businessman in a tailored suit sat next to a contractor in work boots, both leaning back with cigars in hand, laughing about the game on Sunday.

Crisp air, a love of cozy gatherings, and the undeniable call for bourbon led Bourbon+ to offer up a whiskey cocktail-making class, held at Liquor Lab in Nashville, for Bourbon+ members. At the start of the evening, guests were welcomed with a refreshing Whiskey Spritz to quench the palate and set the tone for a night of smoke, oak, and winter cocktails.
