KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Toronto Blue Jays starter Jameson Taillon left Friday night's game against Kansas City after two innings due to right elbow discomfort. Taillon was making his first appearance since Aug. 10, when he was placed on the injured list with right forearm tendinitis. The 34-year-old right-hander allowed one run on two hits in two innings before leaving. Toronto manager John Schneider said that Taillon is likely headed back to the IL.

MONTREAL - The league-leading Montreal Alouettes rallied in the second half to defeat the B.C. Lions 37-30 in front of 22,752 fans at Percival Molson Stadium on Friday night. The Alouettes outscored the Lions 30-18 in the final two quarters to secure the CFL victory, their seventh in as many outings at home this season. The win also allowed Montreal (10-2) to become the first team to clinch a playoff berth.

It was the first U.S. Open match since 2022 at the Grand Slam tournament the sisters won twice. They pulled out the second set in a tiebreaker, battled back from 4-1 down in the third set to tie it, but then faltered late.
