Police service's board appoints top director

The Thunder Bay Police Service Board has found a new executive director, the second person to be appointed to the newly created role. Christy Radbourne has been chosen as the new executive director, a position that was created in late 2024 to assist the board with policy development and board business. It also takes on the responsibilities of secretary of the board. In December of 2025, Mark Figliomeni was appointed to the position after a nearly year-long search.

House in mind for winning Etobicoke resident

A self-described dog person has a million reasons to celebrate the dog days of summer. Actually, she has more than 2.7 million reasons. Lola Bridges of Etobicoke, Ont., received the coveted phone call from Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation president Glenn Craig on Friday morning letting her know she won the Thunder Bay 50/50 August Dog Days of Summer grand prize. "You have no idea what a dog person I am too," Bridges said.
