McCLURE — Denise Boonie anxiously awaited the unearthing of a time capsule buried in her hometown of McClure in 1976 when she was seven, looking forward to reading the letter her father had left in it six months before his death in a car accident. On June 20, when the capsule was lifted out of the ground in McClure Station Park, Boonie's hopeful anxiety turned to sorrow when she saw it had filled with water and much of the paper contents, including her father's cherished letter, were damaged.
