HARRISBURG — The worry experienced within Pennsylvania’s childcare industry was plainly evident this week as Tina Carter of the Meadville Family YMCA testified in the State Capitol about how families are struggling to find affordable and available daycare across the commonwealth. At the sixth and final public hearing on the topic hosted by the House Republican Policy Committee, Carter said she regularly hears from families who simply can’t find childcare.

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania’s annual budget deadline approaches, and leading lawmakers say negotiations are ongoing. Whether a budget for 2026-27 is adopted by the June 30 deadline remains to be seen. Each of the past four budgets has been adopted late, and a missed budget deadline is something that has occurred more often than not across the past two decades. Yes

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Early and often! I prefer email, allowing for quick answers, but believe that a followup by a phone call is important. That's old-school now.
